It's no secret that I am a loyal Target shopper. We have a Kroger, Wal-Mart, and Super Target all within five minutes of our house, but I almost always do my grocery shopping at Target. People try to convince me that Target is the most expensive of the three, but I've never caved in my opinion. And now I am vindicated! I saw a segment on the news the other day where they compared Wal-Mart, Target, Kroger, and Tom Thumb. They bought the same exact items at every store and guess which store was the cheapest? Target! It beat Wal-Mart by $2.00 and Kroger by $20.00! Now, I know there are times that Wal-Mart is cheaper than Target (not that it matters, I still hate that store) and Kroger has a MUCH better produce and meat selection than Target does, but still. I was excited. I'm not spending way more by shopping at Target! Actually, I probably am because I get distracted by all the other awesome stuff that Target has....I just need to work on my self control.
Anywaaaay, I've just been even more excited about Target since I saw that. Woo!
My recent trip to Poway (and my favorite restaurants there) got me thinking about what my top 5 favorite restaurants ever are. I love to eat out, so it was kind of a hard call, but I think I'd say my 5 all time favorite restaurants are:
1. Bombay House, Provo, UT. The best Indian food and the one and only thing I miss about Provo.
2. In-N-Out, California, Nevada, Arizona. World's best burgers! How I miss them...
3. El Ranchito Taco Shop, Poway, CA. Everyone should try a flauta from this place before they die.
4. Babe's Chicken Dinner House, Sanger, TX. Yummiest chicken I've ever had and creamed corn that is to die for. Plus that atmosphere is really something else...
5. Mandarin, Bountiful, UT. My favorite Chinese place. I especially miss it because there is no good Chinese food here in Denton.
Whoulda thought that the yummiest Indian food EVER would be found in Provo, Utah?? Random. If you're ever near any of these restaurants, you've gotta eat at them!
So, what are YOUR favorite restaurants??
John just celebrated his 28th birthday on Sunday (old man!) and I was determined that for his gift I was going to get my hands on a Wii. I kept hounding Best Buy, and they kept telling me they should be getting some soon. I decided to give the Best Buy down in Lewisville a shot and they said they had some. Woo! I was nervous because they wouldn't tell me how many they had and Andrew had just gone down for his nap, so I was afraid that by the time he woke up and we got down there the Wiis would be gone. Fortunately they still had some when we got down there. I was SO excited, it was just really hard to keep the secret from John for 5 days. We only have 3 games so far, but we're loving it! Soooo much fun. If you don't have one, get one! :) I'll have to get some pictures of us looking like idiots while we play....
So our sweet baby boy (Chester, as we jokingly like to refer to him) is being naughty! Here I am 37 weeks pregnant and the silly boy is breech. The doctor was worried he was, so I had an ultrasound yesterday to check. Sure enough, his little head is up near my ribs and his feet are down where his head should be. *sigh* It's a little late in pregnancy for him to be turning head down on his own, so that's why I'm nervous. I have another appointment tomorrow, at which time we'll discuss the options. I imagine we'll end up attempting a version, which is where you go to the hospital and (under frequent monitoring) the doctor physically forces the baby into the right position. It's usually only 50% effective though, so I'm still worried. There are a couple of other techniques I'll try as well, but if he doesn't budge...we're gonna end up with a c-section. Eeeek! So here's hoping we can get this boy to go head down.
On a happier note, May is here and May is a good month! John finishes school in a week!!! YAY! A week or so after that, my mom and sister will be visiting, and anytime now really, we'll have our sweet baby here.
If we still had a scanner, I would put on yesterday's ultrasound pictures. In one of them you can see that the kid has a good head of hair. :) So cute!
